The two doctors who for nearly 14 days have risked their own lives in order to save the lives of others, are furious over allegations that they have been giving misleading reports from Gaza.Anne Hafstad DAG W. GRUNDSETH (photo)- We were quite early alerted to the Israeli allegations about Hamas having set up a base in the cellars of the Shifa-hospital. Mads Gilbert and I immediately discussed this with the hospital management. They rejected the allegations, says doctor Erik Fosse.The Shifa-hospital is on the same size as Ahus, with 735 beds, but looks more similar to Ullevål hospital with all its buildings. It can be hard to get an overveiw.- The first thing we asked hospital management about, was whether these were preparations for a raid against the hosptial. Alternatively the allegations might have been intended to scare us, says Fosse.
He states that he has not been to every building and cellar in the hospital and therefore cannot give any guarantees.
- We did not see anyting which might indicate that Hamas had set up a base in the cellars, Fosse insists.
