• A tale of three lobbies
Norwegians are often told of the US Israel-Lobby. But this is not the only lobby out there. The Jerusalem Post recently published an article on the US Arab-Lobby. Excerpt: Both the pro-Israel and pro-Arab lobby (really lobbies because there are several for each) are indeed powerful, but there is a big difference – a difference […]

  • Norvège: une convertie à l’Islam décrit un antisémitisme primaire
It is worthwhile to recall that anti-Semitism in Norway goes back to 1814, when our first constitution declared that Jews and Jesuits not be allowed access to the realm. Likewise one can hardly blame the Norwegian Muslims for how, during WWII, nazi-collaborators sent 700 Norwegian Jews to their deaths. And perhaps most importantly: contemporary anti-Semitism […]
  • LMD claims Israel ‘spies out European telecommunications’
Norway has been nervously peeping at Russia since 1965, when the Marjata, a former whaler, was converted into a spyship. LMD now encourages Norwegians to be shocked over how Israel also has intelligence operations. Not only does Israel control US politics, wield mighty “miracle socks”, pester the Palestinians with savage “Homo-imperalism”, and fail […]

  • Scandinavian democracy – a guided affair
Screenshots from Norwegian newspapers Aftenposten and DagenMagazinet Not even in Scandinavia does democracy work flawlessly. Is there an invisible hand at work? In the screenshot above (left) we see an op-ed from yesterday’s Aftenposten, with Eirik Vatnøy from Civita, a liberal think tank, asking some rather poignant questions. Vatnøy points out that it appe […]
  • Washington Post on terrorism in Norway

Red Cross suggests Norwegian Jews be tried for war-crimes

Almost every week it seems, some prominent Norwegian steps up and demands that some sort of action be taken against the state of Israel. Last week it was the Bishops’ Boycott, which fortunately was called of. Now it’s the Red Cross.

Unauthorized translation from Dagenmagazinet:

Wants Norwegian Jews scrutinized for war-crimes

New information show that several Norwegian, Swedish and Danish citizens serve as soldiers in the Israeli forces. The Israelis have repeatedly been accused of being responsible for transgressions against the Palestinians in the occupied territories.

– If Israel herself does not investigate these actions, Norwegian authorities ought to consider whether to start investigations, and after that eventually initiate investigations and prosecution, says Director of Communications Bernt G. Apeland in the Red Cross to NRK.

Scrutinize Israel, then. Investigate and punish.

Indeed.

  • Hi JSS
Believe it or not but it turns out a few Norwegians have served in the IDF and the Norwegian Red Cross wants to scrutinize these guys for war-crimes. Now far more civilians have been killed in Afghanistan than during Cast Lead. The difference between the wars in Afghanistan and Gaza does of course not lie with the tactics of the enemy – both Hamas and the Taliban hide behind the civilian population – but the war in Afghanistan involves Norwegian soldiers whereas the war in Gaza involved Israeli soldiers. So fighting the Taliban for Norway in Afghanistan is ok, according to the Norwegian Red Cross, but fight the genocidal Hamas in Gaza and you face scrutiny for war-crimes. You could not make this up.
