This site has repeatedly demonstrated how the Norwegian media is biased against Israel, among other here. Now the Tundra Tabloids (Finland) and Sweden, Israel and the Jews (Sweden) and Ilya Meyer (Sweden) have made similar findings.
Ilya Meyer excerpt
In an average month of 30 days, there are never more than 3 days without some negative reporting on Israel in the publicly-funded state TV (SVT). Check out the news function on teletext and on a minimum of 27 days out of 30, there will be a story about Israel. Not about Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, the Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Somalia, Bangladesh. The standing joke in Sweden is that one can always tell when there is a new employee at the taxpayer-funded SVT, because that is the day there is no anti-Israel item on teletext. New recruits never make the same mistake twice, if they wish to keep their jobs.
Tundra Tabloids excerpt
“The Tundra Tabloids conducted a 90 day research project on Middle-East reporting in Finland, focusing on the newspapers, the Helsingin Sanomat and Keskisuomalainen, from the beginning of February to the end of March. On an average, the HS reported on Israel once every 1.3 days, while the KS every 1.6 days”.
SIJ excerpt
One example of the irrational Israel-bashing in the Swedish media has already been cited in this blog. Helle Klein, the political author of the left-leaning Social Democrat daily Aftonbladet—which is notorious for Israel-hating screeds—spends the vast majority of her time publishing anti-Israel stories in her Aftonbladet blog. During the month of June this year, 28 out of 44 posts concerned Israel and most of them were encouraging Sweden and Aftonbladet’s readers to boycott Israel.
The road ahead
What we have done so far basically amounts to scratching the surface. More research is most definitely called for! But progress is being made here. Next time an author comes along looking for information, bloggers will be able to supply him or her with the required material. And one thing is for certain: the Nordic media establishments have something in common – a pathological interest for the only Jewish state in the world.

Maybe Helle Klein and similar ilk could be persuaded to do some real journalism.
Here are a few suggestions: Bangladeshi women are more likely than Bangladeshi men to die during monsoon/cyclone period. Why; the strict interpretation of Sharia in this country forbids a woman to dress in clothes that could be seen as being immodest. The traditional long dresses are very heavy and in fact pull women down so that they drown. Women can also be turned away from cyclone shelters on the grounds that 1) such shelters are placed in madrassas or male only institutions, women may not visit. 2) women might be unsuitably dressed. 3) women might be unaccompanied by male relatives. As a woman, I take strong exception to so called feminists refusal to deal in a serious manner the tragedies that befall our sisters in faraway and politically unimportant places.
Alternatively: Lets have a closer look at the president of Argentina, that celebrated socalled progressive woman who was placed in power by her husband, the ex-president. Mysteriously, while in office she has increased her personal fortune by 158% since she was elected in 2007, and sees no problem in being head of state and acting CEO for her own family run consultancy at the same time. While she talks the talk (or actually, her husband does), she praises the scandalous growth in down town slum areas as proof of the country’s economic success, and ignores the continuing drifting apart of the have’s and have not’s of this ill fated country, the spiraling violence is of no interest to her as her political goal is to perpetuate herself and her family in power. NIce progressive talks in Europe, at home continued restriction of press freedom, not refraining from using secret police to tarnish political opponents. Poor Evita, even in death she is being abused…. again.
Then there is the thorny issue of Kurdistan, not to be heard about in polite company these days. Not as much as half a comma when Turkey crosses borders to bomb hapless Kurds to smithereens.
Question. What is the difference between the following two; Nazi National Socialism’s treatment of the Jewish people vs Fascist International Socialism’s treatment of Israel?
Answer. Inter.
Dear Concerned Socialist
This site is not about Israel and Jews, but about Norwegian perceptions of Israel and Jews. We deal with questions such as: What are the mechanisms which have led us into assuming a role in the Middle East, and how do Norwegians benefit from the Palestine-lobby’s influence on Norwegian foreign policy?
As for our findings they are sound enough.
