A book to change your way of thinking…

An Oslo bookstore recommends Susan Abulhawa's book.

The photo above is from a bookstore in central Oslo. The book is Susan Abulhawa’s “Morning in Jenin”, a work of fiction which casts Jews as “hollow-eyed” land-thieves with no historical connection to the land, and neither agricultural nor managerial skills of any kind. In addition to stealing land, the Jews of this book also steal an Arab child and turn him against his kin. It is a quite spectacular read.

This being Norway, “Morning in Jenin” has received favorable reviews (except from Dagens Næringsliv, which identified the book as being a piece of political propaganda) and goes down well with the readers. Only last week it was still selling better than Dan Brown. Today we see that “Morning in Jenin” only ranks at 8th place – out of ten – in the hardcover market. In the softcover market it is doing better.

The handwritten note above says: “MORNING IN JENIN  Sometimes a book can change our way of thinking. Morning in Jenin is such a book”.

One thing is for certain, the reception of Abulhawa’s book has changed the way a lot of Norwegian perceive their own nation.

” Sometimes a book can change our way of thinking. Morning in Jenin is such a book”.”

What is there to change? Don’t Norwegians already hate Israel and Israelis well enough? Even the government helps subsidize artists inciting against Israel, as recorded on this blog.
