It is fashionable among Norwegian politicos to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinian cause. For Oslo-east however, they have no solidarity whatsoever. Politiko Akhtar Chaudhry (Socialist Left) is a first class example of this hypocrisy. While he aims to partake in the upcoming convoy to Gaza, in order to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinian cause, he refuses to let his own son attend school in the increasingly Muslim Oslo-east. Instead, he busses his son to a school in the white, Christian west-side of Oslo.
The Akerselva river is a traditional demarcation line separating the affluent west from the working-class east. Moreover Akerselva is becoming a color line, separating the Christians of the west from the Muslims of the east. Akhtar Chaudry is, to his credit, one of the very few politicos who lives east of the river. For the rest of the population of Oslo-east it therefore comes as a sore blow to hear that Mr.Chaudry draws the line at letting his own son attend an Oslo-east school. No, for Mr.Chaudry, the schools of Oslo-east will not do. Too many Muslims there, apparently. Mr.Chaudry therefore busses his son to a school with more white Christians, on the west-side of the city.
The evening edition of Aftenposten today reports on the issue:
Every day the vice president of Stortinget (Parliament), the first of immigrant background, sends his oldest son from one of Oslo’s most immigrant-filled school boroughs to the far more affluent Tåsen. The buss to the neighborhood, dense with academics and villas, takes 37 minutes, according to Ruter (Buss company).
Chaudhry’s son belongs to the secondary school at Gran. 95 percent of the students at this school belong to minorities, and more than half score at the lowest levels of accomplishment in reading. In Nordberg 11 percent belong to the same category. The proportion of minority students ther is 17 percent.
Aftenposten also mentions that the party to which Chaudry belongs, the Socialist Left, has rejected free choice of schools for years.
Such is the nature of the politicos of the Socialist Left. They will express solidarity with the Palestinians, which costs them nothing except taxpayer money, but will not allow their own children to attend the schools of Oslo east, even in the few cases where they themselves reside there. They will voice support for multiculturalism, but will not mix with immigrants even in the few cases when they themselves are immigrants.

in steps of rosie parks of alabama, may be ?
Ryddi, it could be case of apartheid on the west side of the Oslo fjord. Oh dear, not Norway surely????
Won’t be too long before Norwegian leftards are building security walls through Oslo. Once a lovely city, now going third-world like Tower Hamlets. I warned my Norwegian lefty freinds 12years ago what would unfold in “trendy” gronelok (sp?)…they didn’t believe me. Now they know and are moving their kids out to Baerum in the summer. Just wait till the Islamists get control of the city council and its budget.
