Brazilian Vale, which Norwegian Hydro has a tight partnership with, only accepts the bare minimum of social responsibility, according to a new poll where Greenpeace ranked the Norwegian Hydro partner as the “the world’s most evil company”. Swiss Greenpeace has for the eighth consecutive year, voted for the world’s most evil companies in the competition “Public Eye Award”.
In March last year Norwegian Hydro acquired much of the Vale’s aluminum business. In return, Vale received money, got rid of debt and took over Hydro shares. This means that Vale is the second largest shareholder in Norwegian Hydro, with 21.64 percent of the shares. The Norwegian government, the Ministry of Trade and Development, is the largest shareholder, with 34.26 percent of Hydro’s shares.
VALE: In the midst of Amazonian rainforest Vale is constructing the Belo Monte dam with devastating consequences for the region’s unique biodiversity and indigenous tribes.
The same Norwegian Government excluded Israel’s Elbit Systems Ltd. from the country’s vast global pension-fund portfolio, the largest investment fund in Europe, because of ethical concerns – Why ? The argument was that Elbit makes surveillance cameras (!) for “the wall”….

When it comes to Norway’s wealth and self-examination, they seem in certain ways much like those other states where the fossil fuel runneth over.
The talent of the Norwegian Government – “The Norsk Hydra” – resides in its many heads (most of them up it’s a-s) speaking with many tongues.
It’s a foul breath (…..and foul breath is noisome)
The indigenous tribes in north America claimed the white man spoke with a forked tongue.
In south America the charade continues, with Norwegian compliments.
And Norway claims to be the most sensitive country in the world. Do Norwegians really believe this nonsemse?
I believe that Norsk Hydron was a company that shared a highly profiteered business connection with Nazi Germany prior to and during the second world war. Den norske Creditbank, Storbrand and Fred Olsen Lines also made huge profits at the same time.
Makes on think does it not?
Sort of off-topic, but on-topic in another way:
Compare what the Koreans think of Jews vs. what Norwegians, (and perhaps most Europeans) think of us:
http://www.thejc.com/lifestyle/lifestyle-features/48771/why-south-koreans-are-love-judaism
There are implications to this far beyond some Koreans reading the Talmud. What it really means is that Jews, who may be physically “white” can now effectively reject Europe and discard it. It is really Asians (especially East/Southeast Asians) that the Jews see as kindred spirits.
This manifests itself in many ways. For decades, Americans have joked about how Jews love Chinese food. But it is now beyond that. In America, where the Jewish intermarriage rate is now 50%, almost half of those marriages are to Asians, and the children are usually brought up Jewish. (Go into a Reform or even Conservative Synagogue today and you will see more than a few Asians, mostly women.). Israel is now re-orienting (pun not intended) its trade and political position to deal with China, India, Japan and Korea, and not so much with the EU. (It was the South Koreans who recently signed a big contract to help Israel and Cyprus with an LNG plant).
This should embolden Israel to act decisively against Hamas and Hezbollah, even if thousands of Islamofascists are killed. Why? Because Asian nations will not boycott a nation they admire and from whom they can benefit. Their cultures do not have Jew-hatred at their core, unlike Europe’s.
And the much maligned FM Lieberman is in fact, brilliant at not only knowing all this, but acting accordingly.

This is also off subject. Santorum has won another primary. I know Eric that you prefer Gingrich to Romney. However, Santorum looks pretty good, too. Doesn’t he?
Martin,
While Santorum is a bit more conservative on social issues than I am, he would also be strongly preferable to Obama (any of the Republicans would).
He is terrific on the issue of Israel; I have heard him on conservative talk radio, sometimes where he is the guest host, and he is articulate, forceful and passionate. Gingrich, however, thinks quicker on his feet, which is important when you realize that Obama controls 85% of the media and all of Hollywood and the Universities. It’s almost like Hugo Chavez – and it gets scary.
