Understanding the Israelis leads to fewer followers

-Repeat a message on Twitter that is sympathetic to being Israeli and vulnerable, and you lose followers every time,  the culture and debate editor of Aftenposten, Knut Olav Åmås writes.

On Tuesday May 22nd at 15.24 Andreas  Fagerbakke (@afagerbakke) wrote the following message on Twitter:

“Self-defense is a right, unless you are an Israeli. Then it is called warmongering, aggression and disproportionate use of force. # Hypocrisy ”
Andreas Fagerbakke is a part-time  intern as an online advisor for MIFF.
A short time later Åmås (@KnutOlavAmas) re-tweeted message to his more than 21,000 followers.

The results were immediate. Aftenposten’s editor lost followers.
Already at 15.57, he wrote: “Advice for losing followers: RT a message which in non-hateful, but understanding of what it means to be an Israeli and vulnerable. Works every time :(

Åmås has obviously experienced that this is a pattern.

Antisemitism report Tuesday
On Tuesday 29th of May will the Holocaust-Center’s report on anti-Semitism in Norway be presented. The report has also examined whether there is any link between hostility to Israel and hostility towards Jews. Maybe we can get answers to why things are the way Åmås has shown, that statements expressing sympathy for Israelis are met with boycotts and distancing by some people in Norway?
The report will be made available on Miff.no on Tuesday 29th of May.
