PalCom andShip to Gaza, Norwegian Peoples Aid and the TUC; If one lie is not enough, lets try with many lies

Frankly, I dont know what to make out of this crowd. They have been sitting on their little lazy academic or “working class’ hands and done absolutely nothing to protest the carnage that is being played out in Syria (which is so bad that Palestinian refugees from Gaza hurry back home to Gaza for safety – I am sure the irony vz the hysterical claims by friends of Gaza of the ‘humanitarian crisis’ there wont be lost on you…) – but you can trust them to come up with one lie after the other to smear Israel, in the best anti-Semitic tradition we now have solid documentation for, is the driving force for these people.

As for the TUC, the biggest trade union in Norway, they are starting the political campaign for next years election early, and have decided to give the Labour Party a very generous donation to the tune of NOK 10 million. This way, they say, they are guaranteed that their choice policies are carried out. In contrast, the conservative parties in Norway could only muster a weak NOK 500.000 from their biggest donator, so I think it is high time we have a debate on the power of money in Norwegian politics.

Palestinakomiteen in Norway

Summary.

The “Palestinakomiteen”, “Committee for Palestine”, also referred to as “Palcom” has a very full agenda this fall.

For the Christian festival of “Olavsdagene” in Trondheim, the Palcom presents this:

The PalCom will accuse Israel of ethnic cleansing during the annual Olav Festival in Trondheim. As usual, no Israeli has been invited to refute claims. Supported by the Church of Norway.

This poster accuses Israel of ethnic cleansing in Jerusalem and the PA territories.

This ostensibly Christian festival seems to concentrate on Palestine solidarity.

The Palcom will also partake in an activity referred to as «welcome to Palestine» on 24th through 31st of August, attempting to enter the PA through the Allenby bridge.

A conference will be held for the LO, the Norwegian TUC, on the 27th of September, by the Palcom. This has received the support of the deputy leader of the LO, Gerd Kristiansen, who will be present, according to this meeting’s agenda. Representatives of Norwegian People’s Aid and Palestinians will take part in this meeting, which concentrates on BDS.

On November the 4th, a BDS conference will be held, including a number of leading trade union and solidarity organization members.

Ship to Gaza Norway

Gaza week in Oslo

SCHEDULE FOR ESTELLE’S STAY IN OSLO

Ship to Gaza’s sailing vessel, Estelle, is expected to arrive in Oslo on the 3. August. We therefore want to organize a Gaza-week with an exciting program filled with information, film, debate and music. We are starting the week even before Estelle arrives, kicking it all off with Gaza Cup on the 28. July! This page will be updated frequently, so that you can follow us and join us!

Saturday, 28. July: Gaza Cup

Time: 12pm – 6pm

Location: Grünerhagen

We are organizing Gaza Cup where you can compete in soccer or basketball, and shoot a ball for Gaza! Food and music will be surrounding the tournament. On stage, KaSimba, Abuwa, Chopsuey, Ruff&Soft, Sarah Osmundsen and African Sunz are going to perform their tunes for us. Food will be served for free, but we appreciate a small donation for each person. All the money we collect will support Ship to Gaza’s project.

Friday 3. August: Estelle’s planned arrival!

Time:

Small boats are invited to welcome Estelle and join her on her way into Oslo and the port below the Akershus Festning, on “Christian Radichs plass”. We expect many interesting politicians and others to be on board, and will have an event when the wessel is parked. Mor information to come.

Saturday 4. August: Concert

We are planning a daytime concert, with artists such as Mikael Wiehe performing for us. More information to come!

Tuesday 7. August: Estelles Departure

Estelle is leaving Oslo. Her next stop is Kristiansand, where she will stay from 9.- 11. August.

For the Ship to Gaza crowd, this might be the optimal opportunity to help the Amnesty International in their campaign against summary executions under the Hamas regime.
