Op-Ed: Preaching Israel-Hatred at Norway’s Terror Island

Published: Sunday, January 27, 2013 10:40 PM
Interview with Ivar Fjeld, Norwegian journalist who wrote a book on the Utoya Island massacre:”The Red youth movement invited youngsters from the Palestinian Popular Front of Palestine (PFLP) to participate in their camp.”

Dr. Manfred Gerstenfeld

The writer has been a long-term adviser on strategy issues to the Boards of several major multinational corporations in Europe and North America. He is the Chairman of the Board of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs.

“On July 22nd 2011, Norwegian fascist terrorist Anders Behring Breivik killed 69 youngsters at a camp of the AUF youth wing of Labor – the leading government party – on the island of Utoya. This camp served as a venue to inculcate party ideology into the minds of children from 14 years and up. Later it became known internationally that part of this included promoting anti-Israel sentiments.”

Ivar Fjeld is a gentile Norwegian journalist. He was formerly a local leader of the AUF and was media advisor to Labor politician Olaf Akselsen when he was minister of Oil and Energy in 2001. His book “The Red and Green Terror Island” was released at the beginning of 2013. It discusses the history of what happened on Utoya Island.

“I was raised in a traditional, secular Norwegian family. Until 2004 when I re-discovered our Christian origins, I was an admirer of Yasser Arafat. We were however, always moderates and never believed that violence should be used as a political tool. At a certain point in 2006, the AUF broke away from its moderate traditions and turned sharply left.

“The AUF owns Utoya Island and its facilities. As a local AUF leader, I participated in this camp in 1986 and 1987. Even at that time there were Palestinian participants. They used drugs and shared them with Norwegian youngsters. We complained about it to then-Labor Youth Secretary General Mr. Stale Dokken, but he and his colleagues preferred to hush it up.

“In 2007, the AUF began to rent out the facilities on Utoya. As an ideological movement, they should have been selective about to whom they were willing to make the place available. One of the organizations to which it was rented however, was the youth movement of the small Norwegian communist Red party (Rodt). Its members included Leninists, Marxists and Maoists.

“The Red youth movement invited youngsters from the Palestinian Popular Front of Palestine (PFLP) to participate in their camp. The PFLP is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, Canada and the U.K. Money was collected for the PFLP at the camp. I have documents and pictures which prove this.

“The AUF had already entered into a formal educational program with the Fatah Youth from 2006 onward. They called this Palestinian body their ‘sister organization.’ Members of Fatah Youth were regular guests at Utoya camps.

“In 2010 at the Utoya camp, the AUF established ‘the State of Palestine.’ They fenced off an area and set up a separation wall. They gave some youngsters the task of being Border Guards. The General Secretary of the Labor party, Raymond Johansen visited Utoya. He wanted to visit ‘Palestine.’ The guards asked him to show his ‘identity card.’ Within ‘Palestine’ there was a banner which read, ‘Show contempt for the acts of Israel and Free Gaza.’

“At Utoya’s 2011 camp, Israel was also demonized. This was done by AUF leaders and visiting anti-Israel lecturers. There was a huge banner calling for the boycott of Israel. There were many countries they could have called to boycott with far more justification, but as usual, they chose Israel. When then-Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere visited Utoya, he spoke out against the boycott, yet was photographed in front of the boycott banner. Stoere said that Israel’s fence should be dismantled, knowing well that this would lead to increased terrorist attacks.

“There have been unconfirmed reports that youngsters in Utoya were taught about how Palestinian freedom fighters are trained to handle Israeli soldiers.

“There have been many rumors in Norway about what actually took place at Utoya. I have done detailed research to document the activities of the groups which were invited to the island. I want people to know the facts. It seems that the line between ‘showing contempt’ for Israelis and the use of violence against innocent civilians inside Israel, is blurred. Summer camps on Utoya have further fueled the already widespread anti-Israel sentiments in Norway.

“Members of the ruling left-center coalition government in Norway have accepted terrorists on Norwegian soil. These people are using violence as a political tool and kill innocent civilians in the framework of their activities. The terrorism and assassinations by these people have not harmed Norwegians. They have taken place mainly in the Middle East and in particular in Israel, targeting Israeli civilians. There is proof that the Prime Minister’s office is well aware and supportive of the welcoming attitude toward the terrorists.

“I can only hope that my book will lead to Norway closing its borders to terrorists of all colors. Then groups who use terror will also be banned from political workshops and ideological summer camps like those we have seen at Utoya. It is a sad testimony for Norway that one had to wait for the horrible Breivik murders in order to learn about the anti-Israeli activities, a mostly unknown part of Utoya’s history.”

As mentioned earlier, it is not the elite which is gullible but those they brainwash.

The elite is the cause of the problem and no solution will or can be found whilse the elite continues it’s hate against Jews and Israel.

Full marks to the author Ivar Fjeld, it appears to me that he has realised the truth about the paedophilic murderer Arafat, still better late than never.

    Martin,
its so hard to be critical if one are a part of a any group. How easy is it do talk open about problems in side of the Jewsih environment? Its so easy to become a self hater or fallen. I think we all have something to learn everyday. But that men easy says that a woman played him out, well that happens her in Norway as well as in Israel! Men are men no matter what culture they come from : ) But hey would not have a life with out you funny comments and odd point on the world : ) We need women and men in this world : )

In Norwegian MSM Arafat was considered more or less as a guru, or the fourth Magus. After his death Terje Rød-Larsen – who was involved in the Oslo peace process- declared that Arafat was manipulating and lying all the time. This has more or less been silenced in the media. In a couple of letters to the editors I have pointed this out.

    Dear Harry.

It is true that some Norwegian are aware that Yasser Arafat was a liar and a manipulator. But this story is about something much more cold blooded. PFLP is the terror-cell of Carlos, the Jackal. That the labor party youth in Norway permitted an organization to collect money for PFLP at Utoya is new to almost everyone on this planet. But not to the people who sit as ministers in the Government of Norway. And do not forget. Israel has many friends in Norway. Not only enemies. McG,
friends of mine inside of labour has been worried for people that lack credibility and ethic standars get more and more power inside.
We live in a democracy if one know about something that is unlegal one has to stop it, and if one don’t, well then one can not be a leader!
Ivar Fjeld congratulations with your book and as you say we are a lot in Norway that understand the history of Israel and want the Israelis to have peace. We hope for the same for the Palastines, but to get there they have to stop using terror and involve them self in politic in Norway!

    Ivar, gratulerer med boken.
I am always surprised that “decent” people can be taken in ny people such as the paedophile (he should have been great friends with Jimmy Saville, he too, was evil) Arafat. Even more so when the only honest thing Arafat did was to continually refuse to abide by one iota with the Oslo Accords and his repeated threat to detsroy Israel

Is Larsen now out of public life? If so, is it because he finally told the truth about Arafat?

The PLO/PA is the largest and wealthiest of all the terror organisations. Back in the late 12990’s, the US State Dept was concerned enough to enquitre where all the unaccounted monet had gone. $multi billions of aid, particularly from the arch enemy of Israel, the EU and it’s partner in crime, Norway still continue to pour more $millions of tax payers money to those who inherited the
mantle from Arafat. Why? Is is only because the EU and Norway hate Israel enough to destroy it?
The EU and Norway * I do mean the political chattering classes in the elite are the monetary, social and political backers of those who intend to destroy Israel

Harry Jess, good to see you are still with us. kol ha Kavod to you too!

my believe now is that Ivar Fjeld is a part of a lager movment that work for a change, also inside of labor. Good is that! Its really facinating to see how this nettwork work before election 2013. Hope they can keep an optimistic spirit in the election and after. Its the spirit of change that will give them victory.

norwegian, what do you want for the “Palestinians”? They already have over 78% of Manadate Palestine, in a country today called Jordan, where Jews are barred from living. Much the same in all Arab and Islamic lands.

If you mean a part of the remaining 22% of the land then you mean west of the river Jordan. Now carve some of the land out from that to become Panother Palestine and that land will also be barred from Jews living there. There will be more ethnic cleansing of Jews from their historic land. Is this what you want?

Why can’t the Arabs live as a minority? Why doesn’t the world look at the millions of refugees from India, when the main part was for the Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists with a substantial Muslim minority. Pakistan and Bangla Desh were created originally as West Pakistan and East Pakistan for the Muslim majority, with a beleagured Hindu minority.

Those who are against Israel are usually against the Jewish homeland regardless. They ignore all other “refugees, including those 900,000 Jews who were ethnically cleansed from their ancestral homes in what is today Islamic lands. where is their justic? none. WEhy? Because they are not Arabs.

I wonder whether Terje Larsen was unaware about Arafat and the so called Palestinian refugees. I wonder if today he regrets the slaughter of thousands of Jews as a result of the Oslo Accords by the murderous Arabs? Oh, they are not just Muslim, no many of the tope leaders and organisations were headed by Arab Christians.

At last the whole rotten truth about Utoya is finally in the open. so these “youngsters” were not as naive, decent people as were first thought. No, they appear to be now shown for what they were. Bedfellows with hate mongering terrorists who were hellbent on slaughtering Jews and the eradication of Israel. Now the survivors and the families of those who were murdered and injured appreciate what it feels like to be on the other end of terrorism. Fun it ain’t. Will they change their minds about Israel? No of course not. They are so brainwashed by their elitist leaders whom they admire, they will contin ue with their chants of kill the Jews and death to Israel and burn the Israeli flag, and in private probably the American flag, too.

Politicians in Europe cannot be trusted. nice words come easily to their lips, without any truth or meaning. Action speaks louder than words. Therefore, the actions of the elite speaks for itself, not their speeches.

    Martin,
I want people in Norway to become more informed about the conflic. To reach this we need to know more about the Norwegian history. It’s to many Norwegians that have fiction that Norway is a rich and happy paradise. The fact that we have become so rich by agressive trade, oil and a unike protection on ower own trade is not a part of the history.

All your questions I can’t respond to them Martin I don’t have knowlege, I just hope that the world can see the situation to the Israeli with out mixing religion and history into a deadly mix.

The fact that people has mobbed me as a person her in Norway at school, university and at work because they regard Israel as a regime, is that a good way to solve a conflict to make more victims?
I have a freedome that no one can take away and the day I get my glass of wine in Israel, I will rise it hig and make my salutte to life : ) All the losers that hate me, well sorry I don’t have time for you : ) Get a life!

This frankly is why a lot of Jews were not all that sympathetic to the Utoya victims. Not pretty, but true.

Or as I like to put it – our reaction to their deaths is the same as theirs to Jewish deaths.

Norwegian and perhaps Ivar Fjeld might be interested in this, too.

You mention Terje Larsen, who is today president of IPI, thank you for the above site. He is mentioned as being the principal architect of the (disastrous for Israel, which cost thousands of Jewish lives)Oslo Accords between the PLO and Israeli socialists who were not in government. It was also at a time when communication with the PLO was illegal!

I gave these details to NIJ, long ago, so let’s see just hoe “decent, upright and neutral this Terje Larsen really is, and his co-conspirators) Henry, Eric etc you may find this interesting.

It is from a Middle East Digest Dec 1996 article, part of The Norway Connection III and titled “More rot at Oslo’s core.

Obeservers of the Oslo process initially attributed Norway’s involvement in Middle East peace efforts to the confidence that country’s leftist government enjoyed with Israel’s Labour Party. “The role and credibility of Norway was significantly enhanced by the fact that it is not a member of the European Community, and therefore, not tainted by thr (EU’s) perceived pro-PLO bias,” The Jerusalem Post reported in September 1993.

Recent revelations , however, have shown that almost all of Norway’s top politicians, including just resigned Prime minister Gro Harlem Brundtland, and three foreign ministers- Thorvald Stoltenberg, (minister when the secret Israeli-PLO meetings began). Johann Joergen Holst (who died of a heart attack after overseeing the signing of Oslo 1, and Bjorn Tore Godal (the current minister)- are long term supporters of the belief that a alestinian state should replace all of Jewish Israel .

As reported last May, tore Godal was chairman of Labour Party’s Youth Organisation (AUF) when, 25 years ago, it committed itself to “support the forces which struggle for the national and social liberation of the Palestinian people”.
“The qualification for lasting peace”, the AUF insisted, “must be that Isarael ceases to exist as a Jewish state, and that a progressive Paalestinian state is established where all ethnic groups can live side by side in complete equality.” (MY NOTE HERE- this proposed state has always confirmed that Jews will not live there and will be ethnoically cleansed – one wasy or another).

Now we can reveal that six years later, top Oslo Accords architect and Norway’s recently appointed minister of planning, Terje Roed Larsen was on the editorial committee of the Norwegian publication Palestine News (issue No 1) in 1977 when it stated, “Fight the Zionistic State of Israel, US imperialism,, and the enemies of the Palestinian people in the Arab world. “No to a two state solution-support the battle for the liberation of all of Palestine.” (MY NOTE here- All of Palestine included Jordan, was this to be included too?) This was it’s rallying call by Larsen!

Israelis will most recently Larsen as the man who, with a spring in his step, entered the building straddling the “border” betweenGaza and “Israel proper” on September 4 to witness the latest fruits of his handiwork – the first meeting and handshake between Yasser Arafat and Israeli rime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Right now Larsen is battling for his young political life after a Norwegian tabloid on November 10 fingered him for financial mismanagement of state-sponsorship to the tune of millions of Norwegian kroner, and accusing him of breaching Norway’s strict instittion governing laws.
According to the Dagbaldet reports, the Institute for Applied Science (FAFO), which Larsen headed , never accounted for a government subsidy it received in 1989-1991. FAFO was at the centre of secret talks leading to the Oslo agreements, with both director Larsen and researcher Marianne Heiberg (Holsts wife) actively involved.
On Novemebr 13, Dagbladet reported that the norwegian parliament had cut financial support to FAFO.

The scandal which broke just two weeks after Larsen’s appointment to the cabinet could deliver a damaging blow to the new prime minister, Thorbjorn Jaglans, who, according to the press reports, knew about the alleged mismanagement before he appointed Larsen.

For his part, Jagland last month revealed his long-term love affair with the PLO when when, during his inaugartion as Brundtland’s successor, he proudly recalled his meeting “in the darkness of the night” with Arafat in Beirut in 1978 – at a time when the PLO was raping and pillaging Lebanon and highjacking and killing civilians on buses in Israel (MY NOTE here – of course, it was easier for all to blame Arik Sharon for the murdering between Christians Druze and Muslims.

Recently resigned Prime minister Gro Harlem Brundtland spoke glowingly of Arafat after meeting him in 1983.

    Now for the juicy bits.

    The Oslo Clique:

    FOREIGN MINISTRY
MONA JUUL, FM department head and involved in secret Oslo talks (also married to Terje Larsen)

KNUT FRYDENLAND, late former foreign minister, visited Arafat in 1983 and involved in secret Oslo talks.

THORVALD STOLTENBERG, former foreign minister, visited Arafat in 1983, mediated in secret Oslo talks. brothers in law below

JOHANN JOERGEN HOLST (married to Marianne Heiberg)former foreign minister, involvede in secret Oslo talks, oversaw signing of Oslo.

BJORN TORE GODAL (close friends and AUF comrade Terje Roed Larsen),current foreign minister, AUF chairman in 1971″the qualification for lasting peace must be that Israel ceases to exist as a Jewish state.”

JAN EGELAND, past secreatey of state, involved in secret Oslo talks, sec gen of the Norwegian Red Cross and chair of Norwegian Amnesty Int’l.

    FAFO (fagbevegelsen Forskningsinstitut):

TERJE ROED LARSEN, a former FAFO director, Norwegian planning minister, mediated secret Oslo talks, as United Nations deputy secretary general for Midlde East, oversaw arming of PLO police, on editorial board of Palestine News 1977 “Say NO to a two state solution – support the battle for the lberation of all of Palestine.”

Marianne Heiberg, FAFO researcher, researched Palestinian living conditions in Gaza, involved in secret Oslo talks.

    PRIME MINISTERS;

GRO HARLEM BRUNDTLAND, former prime minister, describer Arafat after meeting him in 1983 as “a lnowledgable and interesting person…not an extremist.”

THORBJOERN JAGLAND, current prime minister, fondly recalls meeting Arafat in Beirit in 1978 (brother in law to TOM BERNTZEN)

    MEDIA:

TOM BERNTZEN, chair of news division of Norwegian Television (NRK)regarded as anti-Israel, pro-PLO and pro-Oslo.

Now I have so many questions that I want answered by the Israeli authorities, some ofwhom are guilty of a cover , others of treason. Many Israeli’s have called for Peres, Belin and the other communist friends of their Norwegian comrades to be placed on trial for trason and responsible for deaths of thousands of Israelis as a direct cause of the Oslo talks.

Perhaps the Norwergians, Prof, Ivar, Harry etc might wish to state their own comments, were they aware of the above, what are their their thoughts? Has it changed their attitudes?

I am sure that those non Norwegians might find the above ot interest ,too.

Habve a nice day, as now you will know that the so called peace process was deemed to failure from the start,

    Martin,

thank you for sharing this, its the first time I get it in so open words.

If one can get any of the people you mention in jail for being idealistic, doubt that Martin. These people one has to see all the time and keep asking them questions, ore they make a new laws all the time against everyone. They are system humans, as long as the system survive we are all happy or not?

Norwegian, calling for the destruction of a legal country and the death of its people is certainly not idealistic. Hitler was not an idealist, nor Mussolini, Stalin, Lenin, Max, PolPot etc. Hate is a very strong emotion that is fully appreciated by the perpetrators who use it.

The only idealism most of them have is to remain within the elite fabric of society. After all is it nearly 80,000 dead in Syria and the Red Cross,UN, EU, Oxfam etc etc etc have kept out completely. An Israeli medical team has been operating in Syria helping the wounded. When will Norway do the same? Probably too dangerous. unlike Israeli citizens who can’t fire back at them, the Syrian army and rebels can. Bloody cowards. Brings to mind the Ghoul, who helped terrorists with munitions for them to kill Jews. He only pulled the puppets strings. What a disgusting creature he and his ilk are.

    Marin,
I don’t have the knowlege you have about EU funding, PLO and all that is going on every where in the world. And you know it. I don’t try to defend Norway more than to show that its humans that live her in general. The people in politics make their own job hard when they give money to organisations that have a political color. Its a lot of debatt her in Norway about this now. Lets hope Palestinerkommiten will has the same amount of money as MIFF : ) Lets be Norwegians and be equal : )

  19. Martin
    February 1, 2013 at 8:56 am

norwegian, I should imagine that any organisation that which works on behalf of the Muslim empire, will have virtually unlimited funding. You, and most people are in ignorance as to how much the PLO/PA have in their war against Israel.

I have mentioned before the Saudi government have awarded grossly obscene $billions to their enbassies world wide to do two things. 1/ to convert the naive and usdually confused minds to embrace Islam and convert to that religion. 2/ to wage a political, financial, media dominated war against Israel and the Jews.

In the late 1990’s (here we go again and I make no apology for repeating this) the US State Department was extremely concenred that the PLO was unable to show where the money had gone. The amount ran into $billion then. So how much more since, has been awarded to the worlds largest terrorist group, exercising corruption on a huge scle and the money still rolls in

The PLO/PA still continues its political war against Israel and makes more and more demands, while never giving anything back in return. They don’t have to ,as they are the darlings of the left dominated mainly governments in the wets. They also recived money from oil producing states which had been blackmailed into offering huge sums inwith the expectation that their oil wells will be left alone.

Remember, Suha Arafat, the Christian widow of Yasser Arafat received $16million per year just to remain on the oisland of Malta and not discuss her late husband’s death and probably his gross sexual preferences for young boys. So I wonder whether all those who supported Arafat were aware of this, or did it matter or not?

May I wish you all a happy Shabbat

I will only drag you back to your childehood disputes with your parents. I’m really glad you went out into the world and become so intelligent and sharp. I have to ask about the things you have written its not something one just accept as evil or good. Its really complicated to help a group of humans that one has to see as secular and intelligent people working for peace. Please try to soft your heart some % and not judge so hard her. The terror Israel has is awfull and I do understand that anyone losing their love one need to find an reason to the situation. Off Martin this is not a good anserw, sorry yes I have let you down.

Chairman of the Federal Reserve, and keynesian devotee, Ben Shalom Bernanke received the doctor of philosophy degree in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979 after completing and defending his dissertation, Long-Term Commitments, Dynamic Optimization, and the Business Cycle. Bernanke’s thesis adviser was the future governor of the Bank of Israel, Stanley Fischer Fischer was appointed Governor of the Bank of Israel in January 2005 by the Israeli cabinet, after being recommended by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He took the position on May 1, 2005, replacing David Klein, who ended his term on January 16, 2005. Fischer became an Israeli citizen but did not have to renounce his American citizenship, despite previous concerns that such a step was a prerequisite for the appointment.

Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland coined the term Sustainable Development and was a principal in the 1992 U.N. The United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), a.k.a. the Rio Summit, which gave birth to Agenda 21. She was also first Vice-President of the Socialist International XX Congress in New York in 1996 and then prime minister of Norway. Some unsavory fringe elements on the internet argue that the sad and tragic event on the island was planned by Israeli Intellignece. Given the fact that the lunatic Breivik was targeting Dr. Brundtland, I think they would have picked a more competent actor to carry out the terror plot.

Is the economic crisis related to a struggle between different globalist factions being played out on the world stage with the curtains still drawn? Is the evil personified, Anders Behring Breivik really a lone crazy? (I think he is most likely yes he is a lone carzy, but?) Is their a hidden struggle between Israeli globalists and others of the globalist elites?

Are these people and events at all unrelated? File under warnings and indications. On a scale of one to five, I would give it a 2.5…

To the families and people of Norway who lost a loved one on 22 July 2011, I express my deepest saddness at you loss.
