not in Norwegian news; the Palestinian infant died of Hamas rockets, not Israeli airstrikes

A very big song and dance was made about the tragic, untimely and wholly avoidable death of the infant son of the BBC’s Gaza reporter, Mr. Jihad al-Masharawi during the November clash between Israel and Hamas. This story made some very big headlines in Norway, with the usual accusations of ‘war crimes’, etc.

Now, after UN led investigations, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has concluded it is more likely that the infant died of stray Hamas rockets than Israeli airstrikes.

True, nothing will repair the terrible loss the parents of the infant, 11 month old Omar al-Masharawi have suffered, he is indeed an innocent victim in a terrible war.

However, it also does not add anything beneficial to blame the death of Omar on Israel. It is wholly and fully attributable to the various terror outfits in Gaza, under the explicit command of Hamas (or so they want us to believe…). This piece of information has mysteriously been withheld from the Norwegian audience. Thankfully, nowadays, if the mainstream media is too lazy to update information, even if the story lies several months back in the public memory, it is a sin of omission to continue to serve a vile lie that Israel murdered this child – bloggers like me can take the two minutes it takes to copy and paste from trustworthy news agencies.

UN: Palestinian terrorists likely killed Gaza baby

Report by High Commissioner for Human Rights says death of BBC reporter’s son apparently caused by ‘Palestinian rocket that fell short of Israel’

Associated Press

An errant Palestinian rocket, not an Israeli airstrike, likely killed the baby of a BBC reporter during fighting in the Hamas-ruled territory last November, a UN report indicated, challenging the widely believed story behind an image that became a symbol of what Palestinians said was Israeli aggression.

Omar al-Masharawi, an 11-month-old infant, was killed on Nov. 14, the first day of fighting. An Associated Press photograph showed Omar’s anguished father, Jihad al-Masharawi, clutching his slain child wrapped in a shroud. Palestinians blamed Israel, and the image was broadcast around the world and widely shared on social media.

Now a report from the UN office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights says the baby was “killed by what appeared to be a Palestinian rocket that fell short of Israel.”

Gaza’s rulers, the terrorist Islamic group Hamas, whose fighters fired most of the rockets into Israel during the conflict, had no response Monday.

BBC officials had no immediate comment, and Jihad al-Masharawi said he couldn’t discuss the issue. An Israeli military spokesman said they could not confirm or deny whether they hit the al-Masharawi house.

Matthias Behnke, head of OHCHR office for the Palestinian territories, cautioned he couldn’t “unequivocally conclude” that the death was caused by an errantly fired Palestinian rocket. He said information gathered from eyewitnesses led them to report that “it appeared to be attributable to a Palestinian rocket.”

He said Palestinian terrorists were firing rockets at Israel not far from the al-Masharawi home. Behnke said the area was targeted by Israeli airstrikes, but the salvo that hit the al-Masharawi home was “markedly different.”

He said there was no significant damage to the house, unusual for an Israeli strike. He said witnesses reported that a fireball struck the roof of the house, suggesting it was a part of a homemade rocket. Behnke said the type of injuries sustained by al-Masharawi family members were consistent with rocket shrapnel.

The Gaza-based Palestinian Center for Human Rights said it still held Israel responsible for Omar’s death.

The PCHR has condemned Hamas fighters and other terrorists in the past for errantly-fired rockets that have killed Palestinians, including during the November clash.

A researcher said the group interviewed family members, neighbors and security officials before they concluded that an Israeli strike killed the baby. She requested anonymity because she wasn’t authorized to speak to reporters.

The baby was killed hours following the eruption of fighting after Israel killed a top Hamas terror leader in an airstrike, in response to incessant rocket fire by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza.

Israel carried out hundreds of airstrikes, targeting terror centers and fighters in Gaza. Palestinian terrorists indiscriminately fired hundreds of rockets and mortar shells toward Israel.

During the 8-day conflict, about 160 Palestinians and six Israelis were killed.

The UN report did not name the al-Masharawi family in its one-sentence statement about the incident. Behnke, the UN official, said the report referred to the incident.

The report discussed the incident in the context of Palestinian terrorists disregarding civilians, both by firing rockets from crowded Palestinian areas and by aiming them indiscriminately into Israel.

These recurrent omissions define Norwegian media as instruments of Propaganda, not sources of journalism and objective information.

    Wikipedia:
“As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda, in its most basic sense, presents information primarily to influence an audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus possibly lying by omission)”

de Bacle, right, but the British fecalia-minded so called “journalists” at the BBC are no better, either. They are the original archetypical agit-propagandists congenitally biased antisemite liars. Please read BBCWatch website, it’s excellent!

Gabor, I seriously believe that the NRK had to go cap in hand to the BBC for lessons in Israel hatred. The BBC is a public funded (tax payers) license to operate for and on behalf of the Home and Foreign Offices. Both offcies have demonstrated hate for the Jews and Israel. Though pretty much like Ann Sender, the BCC has some leftwing high ranking Jews.
We are still waiting for the Balen Report to be publicised, held back by the BBC at further ccost to the tax payers. The BBC is a highly corrupt body, with their high ranking staff earning enormous salaries, bonuses and expenses for everything. They operate as a communist state and certianly the Conservatives for years have complained about the BBC for having such socialist dogma.

The BBC is full of parasites.

Note how the British can use local Arabs reporting on the Arab issues but will never use a Jew, well at least a real Jew to report from Israel, because s/he will be biased.

This is another scenario of the picture of the Gazan holding his young son who was killed during the fighting. Israel weas accused of killing this young child. Once the commotion ceased, it was later reported that in fact the local Gazans killed one of their own

Another scenario of the Israeli soldier running towards a bloodied Arab, with calls of Israeli violence. Later it was proven that the “victim” was actually an american jew who was assaulted by a fanatical rabid Arab mob.

There were no apologies then, nor will there be now for misrepresenting “facts”. Only pro Arab propaganda is important. Most of the international media are just the same. Arab oil $billions have proven very useful in buying off most of the media, governments, politicians, NGOs, unions, etc etc etc.

    Martin,
Anne Sender wrote in Vårtland (krist why does she write on that page)that she calles people that she dissagree with for parasites.
The Chatolics that are growing a lot her in Norway, took her right down on that. So she had to ask for forgivness. No one is perfect : )

I don’t believe for one moment that Sender even knows what the meaning of Zion or Zionism is. Ignorant person, she as made her piece with then enemy, as it is said, an enemy of my enemy is my friend. She certainly keeps strange bedfellows.

Martin my opinion is that religion mixed with politics is just chaos.

Anne Sender is to me a person that has not had time to lisend to people inside of DMT and their opinions. It has been a really dramatic reality change in Oslo with lots of Muslims and a growing Jew hate in the left. Dr. Sussia has probably know to much and demand action before the community was ready. It would be really nice if they could calm down and just talk about the last years, we all would learn a lot about a new way forward from these two.

norwegian, whether Sender had listened to the DMT is irrelevent. As a supposed Jew, she wuld have been expected to know something of Israel, it’s problems achievements etc. To “come out” as she did is an appalling choice of action, having set out her vision of Israel.

She and not dr Suissa should be the outcast, and Dr Suissa should receive a real heart felt apology for the way she was treated. I visit the SMA-S for myslef. She happens to be a real Zionist (like the prof)and that is the reason for her exclusion. To DMT’s shame.

    Martin,
as I see it the action to DMT about Dr. Sussia showed me that it was a community in reall difficults. I had no knowlege about all the people in Israel and all around the world that saw that something was wrong. At a time where I had no clue about where to seek help when people was going after me for being a Jew and have left Christianity I just found you and McG her on the web. I know that McG is not happy about all this writing about Sender and Dr. Sussia. I know she likes that we talk about subjects not people. A subject I think has to be written a lot about is Jewish self hate and how this has affected the Jewish identity. I also miss good books about how to bulid selfconfident as a Jew in a modern sosiety. My personall opinion is that it has to be fun to be a Jew if not its no reason than to better just be an ashole. I’m really good at that, just ask my parents : )
