Vårt Land: Israel attacked Gaza strip

Its interesting how this newspaper goes out of its way to distort news. At least in its head lines. Perhaps they think they will get more readers if they present Israel as the attacker rather than defender?

To be fair, they managed to get the facts more or less straight in the main body, but why the need to present Israel as the aggressor, Vårt Land editor, even when you resort to lazy journalism and copy/paste from NTB?

Can you not on you own initiative correct the NTB nonsense and write something like Palestinians attacked Israel, Israel retaliated? Or, more to the point, Islamic Jihad sacrifices Palestinians to challenge Hamas.

After all, it is summer and you could use the silly season to get your facts straight.

The Israeli air force attacked areas in the Gaza Strip on Monday night. In the hours before the attack several rockets were fired at southern Israel from Palestinian areas.

The Israelis report that they hit the buildings and facilities, including two weapons caches in the central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip. Palestinian sources reported that air strikes hit uninhabited areas and that no one was injured.

Israeli military reported that two Palestinian rockets had been fired at Israeli areas earlier Sunday caused no damage.

Prof, when the article is on Israel, the summer silly season is all year round.

*siiiiiiiigh* I feel like this was some sort of cheap sales trick from VL. They’re trying to earn a few NoK from the anti-Israli crowd, hoping that they’ll pick up a copy along with their breakfast hot-dog because of the promising headline. When they actually read the article, they find out that the Pals fired first, and nobody were killed by the Israeli rockets, and hopefully feel suitably ripped off.

Vårt Land newspaper used to support Israel many years ago. Nowadays it’s not popular any more to support Israel, so the newspaper doesn’t care any more of what’s right and what’s wrong. They just want to serve the readers the same as the other newspapers. The same old anti-Israel stories about the bad Jews and the good Arabs. In their debate forum they even sensor pro-Israeli writers.
