Apparently the big wigs at NTNU in Trondheim, learned nothing when one of their main sponsors pulled his funds after the failed 2009 bid to culturally and academically boycott Israel. Although the University did vote down the motion, that it even had been allowed to be tabled infuriated sponsor Olav Thon to such an extent that he snapped his wallet shut. One would have though that in a place with – one assumes – real brainy people, they would have connected the dots and ensured that they would never again be caught in such an embarrassing position. It is possible to fire people, even in academia.

Pro-Israel NGO Miff.no publish statements made by an associated professor at the NTNU in Trondheim on his Facebook pages. The culprit, Trond Andresen is hardly a novice when it comes to this sort of this; having made hatred of Israel his favorite pastime, when not educating cybernetics student at this institution.

Mr. Andresen’s statements:
“Today the Kristallnacht is marked around the country. I am an antiracist; but will not let my legs be foot in any place to mark this as the situation is today:
- I do not accept the term anti-Semite as useful in today’s political reality. It has been so abused by Zionists we should avoid it. I therefore hold that ‘anti-Semitism’ shall be theme n o w h e r e in today’s political situation. To the degree Jews are subjected to racism today (an extremely minor phenomenon as compared to the racism gypsies, blacks and Muslims are subjected to); refer to it as ‘racism’; like we do with all other groups. By the way, the behavior of Israel is the major reason of the remaining ‘anti-Semitism’.
- ‘Anti-Semitism’ will of course be a theme at the Kristallnacht. If there is any day of the year in which the supporters of Israel are in the position to profit; this is the day. They are damned aware of this. I do not wish to be an useful idiot for these forces. Therefore, I propose dropping any demonstration on this day. Anti-Racism can be marked in thousands of other occasions”.
The above statements are referred to in student newspaper “Dusken”. In this article, the editor of leftist newspaper “Klassekampen”, Bjørnulf Braanen, to his credit, clearly distances himself from Mr. Andresen’s statements in an editorial on November the 12th
