Vårt Land claims to be “balanced” in its coverage of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Evidence would suggest otherwise, as can be seen in choice of words for head line in story below and the fact that there has been no mention at all about the rocket from Gaza that landed smack in the middle of a neighborhood in Ashkelon?
Israeli air strikes against targets on the Gaza Strip
A three -year-old Palestinian girl was killed in an Israeli air strike on the Gaza Strip Tuesday , according to medical sources told AFP .
The same source reports that three of the girl’s relatives were wounded in the attack . A fourth person is also injured , according to another medical source in Gaza.
The attacks against several targets in the Gaza Strip Tuesday came as a response to a sniper , according to the Israeli military killed a civilian Israeli man who was about to repair the security fences along the border between Israel and Gaza. The man is the first Israeli who are killed in the border area of more than one year.
The air attacks Tuesday were directed against two military training camps run by Hamas. The girl who was killed was supposedly near by one of these camps , reports Reuters .
And also, if they had ventured past their copy and paste journalism, they could easily have found out that the murdered Israeli was 22-year-old Saleh Abu Latif from the predominantly Bedouin city of Rahat, was working between Nahal Oz and Kfar Aza as a civilian employed by the Israeli Defense Ministry on repairs to a section of the Israel-Gaza border fence damaged in last week’s storm.
Lazy journalism is always bad journalism…
