Oslo chapter of YMCA/YWCA reject YMCA/YWCA Israel boycott

Lifted from Oslo YMCA webpage, google translate

It would seem that the YMCA/YWCA Global call for a broad economic boycott of Israel has backfired….

Oslo Chapter of Friends YMCA and YWCA –  sees the need to clarify that we are not part of the economic boycott that Norwegian YMCA -YWCA and YMCA-YWCA Global has advocated .
Norwegian YMCA -YWCA and YMCA-YWCA Global stated publicly on 21 February in Vårt Land  where they advocated and launched a campaign for a broad economic boycott of Israel. In the wake of this, the Board and management in the friends of YMCA –  have been contacted by players , managers and parents who in various ways have responded .
The call for boycott has been treated both by the board of Oslo YMCA and the board of the YMCA – mates. We concur in the following :
Oslo YMCA and the board of the friends of YMCA  have not considered neither the background for the boycott or the content of the campaign which is launched since we do not see it as our task , while we find that the campaign has created unease among some of our members . Oslo YMCA or friends of theYWCA  want to emphasize that we neither stand behind or support the campaign.
We also need to emphasize that we were not informed of the boycott campaign before it was launched. We regret this . We believe that with approximately 1400 members we certainly should have been informed , as we have  communicated clearly to the Norwegian YMCA -YWCA .
Sverre Kragset Chairman Oslo YMCA
Thor- Erik Stenberg Chairman friends of YMCA
PS ! Vårt Land has followed up the case today , Friday 7 March , through an interview with the Chairman of Oslo YMCA and chairman of the friend of the YMCA  Oslo.

I will not dress as a bad YWCA this Purim. This was very good news!

A start at least. Many Christian members individually do not support their Churches’ calling for BDS. A few still show decency that shames their elders.
