Dimwit “student” at Tromsø University tries her hand at demonizing Israel

lifted from utropia.no google translate

Here is an example of how ignorance rules at this bastion of Israel hatred on that shitty little town up in the North. Foul beer, ugly dialect and over-sized ego’s are the main features of the town. Ah, and their hysterical refusal to incorporate the Sami Language into the signposting within the towns borders.

Anyway, in addition to the usual nonsense, half-truths, outright lies, gross exaggerations, etc, this particular student Lene Sedolfsen, probably thought she was going to impress her similarly ignorant fellow students with this ridiculous claim: “The Gaza strip is approximately the size of Troms County, where 1.7 million people live…” Well she has impressed me with her lack of knowledge of size, proportions, or in the very least inability to perhaps check with google before posting her feverish fantasies.

Because… the County of Troms extends over 25.000 square kilometers, bigger than all of Israel. Perhaps she doesn’t know how to calculate population density (not surprising given Norwegian school pupils depressing results in international tests), but she might have spent a few minutes looking at the maps (provided she would know to check that the scales of maps were the same) and realize that she hasn’t got a clue. Other than spewing hate that is.

But lets just for the sake of fairness say that this was a honest mistake and that she meant to say “on the size with Tromsø, the town”? Still she has got it fairly wrong: Tromsø is about 2520 square km, with approx 71000 inhabitants. In comparison, London has about 1572 square km, with a population of over 8 million people. In her fantasy world, London would be much worse off than the Gaza strip (which probably some friends I have in London would agree to). If we compare with New York, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, etc, she would be on even thinner ground. I’ll be kind to her and not press her on the squalid conditions in the favelas and villas de miseria in certain South American countries that have been mentioned in international media lately.

Also, Ms. Sedolfsen should probably not use technical terms she is unfamiliar with, she actually has put in writing that Israel is substituted… (well, we shan’t confuse her by telling her what she probably meant say)

anyway, for what its worth, here are the condensed thoughts of Ms. Lene Sedolfsen (google translate)

Wake up ! Norwegian press is sleeping ….
by Lene Sedolfsen
Palestinian youth are defenseless against the IDF (Israel Defence Force) or IOF (Israel Occupation Force) as the youth call them . ( All images: Majed Abusalama )

After ” weeks” murder / execution of several young Palestinians  loads of different home made rockets by Islamic Jihad ( radical militant and religiously motivated Palestinian group) were fired against Israel. A group including recruiting suppressed 16-17 year olds in the lack of education, the holy war . The damage inflicted by the rocket attacks againt Israel were of minor nature and no lives were lost . Most rockets were stopped by Israeli state- missile shield . Israel responds by bombing the closed and already bombed Gaza two nights in a row . This is to respond Islamic Jihad and the Palestinian population , in an attempt to defend themselves  and avenge missile attack , which we have looked unfold so many times that we lost count . Amazingly enough there is nothing to read about this in the Norwegian press. No messing with one of the world’s strongest military forces with advanced and deadly weapons arsenal ! They are , after all, trained to kill and defend ! Not enough, Israel is substituted , then there must be fired and war to secure budgetary framework and the assumption of one of the world’s biggest industries .
In Gaza, home to 1.7 people and more than half are children and young people, trapped in a life few can imagine. Neither Israel , Islamic Jihad or Hamas are gracious , and further oppression of the Palestinian people and the Gaza Strip can not possibly result in anything good with it , or any way increase security in the region. Gaza has been bombed and blocked for over 10 years now. They have no military force , navy or air defense to protect themselves , and the conditions there is now a political and humanitarian disaster.

Israel however trains their youth, both boys and girls , with two years of required military service in the Israeli military and security forces. So all Israelis are at some point during set a system daily oppresses the Palestinian people , and they risk imprisonment if they abstain from the national service.

It is with concern I testify that a society of innocent generations and the civilian population of which a large part of children and youth, handicapped and elderly are being broken down for long periods , without the ability to escape or build their communities again . The State of Israel has deprived Palestinians right to make a living , this by occupying water sources , depriving the opportunity to fish in their own seas and cultivate their own scarce land resources . The State of Israel is chasing Palestinians from their homes , occupying more and more Palestinian territory and denying the right to return. Part of the State of Israel can apparently seem to have evolved into a system of human fighters , who are highly trained to protect, kill and oppress in the name of security . Where ethnic and religious differences is crucial for you to protect or pose a threat to safety. There is no question of human dignity and human rights may seem to be becoming a thing of the past . Every Palestinian 16 -year-old is the state of Israel has become a (potential ) terrorist, it may seem like . Talk about extreme stereotypes …

Most Palestinian children growing up in refugee camps.

Gaza is the size of Troms county , where live ie 1.7 million trapped people living in distress , fear and frustration . It is an extreme and untenable situation the world can not ignore if you want a more just world and more peaceful conditions.
Next time the state of Israel ” lament ” to the West of terrorists and homemade rockets, then consider a repressed and imprisoned 16 -year-old uneducated , in a society where distress, mental disorders are normal, and loss of friends and family are everyday . A place where it is safer to cultivate hatred and anger, but to cultivate olive trees and strawberries. One should by all means do not underestimate and ignore people in need. People in distress leads to desperate acts. Ask yourself so who really breed / reproduce terrorists in this region. Who can be held responsible , and who can contribute and abilities to change in this complex and unjust conflict? Think for yourself!

# # EndGazaBlockadeNow Human Rights Israel Stop Bombing # # # IsraelStopKillingKidz Free Gaza

Well, little Lene might have a point about the low standards of education. But this is not the fault of Israel, but the ruling Hamas and their refusal to educate their youth to become knowledgeable and skilled in matters other than terrorism and bomb making.

But for all her documented stupidity and ignorance, people like little Lene should really have to explain themselves to a wider audience than her coreligionists at the University of Tromsø.

Interesting. She complains that Israel sees every Palestinian kid as a terrorist, but she specifically says that every Israeli oppresses Palestinians.

    Talk about stereotyping.

yes, the irony of it. Still these goofs mainly get to spread their drivel unopposed and contribute in a major way to demonizing Israel and stirring not so latent anti-Semitic sentiments in the broader Norwegian population.

” Foul beer, ugly dialect and over-sized ego’s are the main features of the town. ”

So, are you saying that Tromso is like New Jersey?

    McG:

Has this blog become less fun to do now that the leftist Jew-haters are no longer in power? Of course, I’m glad they are now the opposition rather than the government, but Nazis like Store helped to give you fuel for your blog.

Hi Prof, the ending of your paragraph “demonizing Israel and stirring not so latent anti-Semitic sentiments in the broader Norwegian population, is very interesting. Now that you are in Israel (kol ha kavod and I wish you the very best as you know. Yes and that I was there too), do you perhaps concede that much of Norway has indeed succumbed to the Nazi mentality? If so, then what walks, swims and quacks like a duck, is in fact a duck, what then does that make the Norwegian mentality? It acts, talks and demonstrates like a Nazi, what can it be, other than a Nazi?

There is definitely a lot less to write about right now, not sure if it entirely related to new govt, although they are a lot more measured in their approach than the Red-Greens. I think that the focus and furious response from foreign sources has shamed some of the more vocal politicians into relative silence. However, it is on the university campuses the battle must be fought, sadly a bit beyond my reach since I no longer live in Norway.
But there is another reason why there is less output on this blog, and is simply down to the fact that making aliyah, rebuilding life, learning Hebrew, building my business take a huge amount of time, energy and dedication. There are many things I simply don’t have the time to translate and upload, far less sifting through all the campus newspapers, union rags, church letters etc where there a frightening amount of trash freely bandied around.

OK, she’s a dimwit who cannot spell, but what is really wrong about our excellent beer here up north?

Indeed, dimwitted twit of an ignorant Norwegian student. Many like her. I once hosted a grp of Tromso journalist + govt students who compared Israel to Nazii Germany. I was so incensed that I halted the meeting. Their leader afterwards apologized but too late.

Here too waiting to see real change with new govt, but much of the same, little better. The unions + their lackeys have not changed. Invitation to NTL ignored.

McGonnal I wish you a successful aliya, success in all your endeavors. Let me know how you’re doing + whether I can help with anything. I’m in Tel Aviv, well connected with unions + govt.
Warm Rgds + pre-empted Pesach greetings

Kjell, I have never drank beer that far north in Norway. Trondhjem has been the furthest north. Can’t complain about the beer, It is just the brainwashed people who will believe anything that their beloved establishment throws at them
Change of government might show an intellectual improvement. However, it doesn’t change the minds of ordinary people that have had decades of ignorant hate about Israel on a 24/7 basis. There are too many national socialists and international socialists who share much in common. A vile hate for the Jewish people and Israel.

Dov, believe me, I have met the lovely Prof a few times now and what is Norway’s loss, a huge loss is to the benefit of Israel. This of course is the only answer to countries such as Norway that appear powerless to stop Jew hate (I find the term anti-Semitic too respectable and acceptable, which clearly is not correct). Europe generally and Norway in particular welcomes the hordes of brainless, ill educated people who detest the west and will make no effort to integrate. Instead Norway welcomes them to practice their vile malicious hateful propaganda. Conclusion; those well educated and cultured people, the Jews leave for aliyah. This of course is why we have Israel and why, the perpetrators of hate, vilify Israel so much.

    Dash me Anglia.

    Dear Student paper,

Could you please tell me when exactly do you wish to stop censoring normal voices responding to a piece of yours?

    http://www.utropia.no/?p=27515

I sent numerous feedbacks almost a week ago now but sadly you block all of them.
Is this how an even minimally democratic-minded paper is supposed to operate?
Did transform into North-Korea suddently as I intimated in one of my comments?
Or do you rather merely intend to defend one of your editors from shame, ridicule and, most importantly, thoughtful counter arguments?
Do you really believe this behavior is really in concer with democratic press ethics?

I avidly await your reply so that I learn more about the situation and your real reasons!

Well put Gabor. I looked up this bit of gutter shit which claims to be a student paper. I have since sent them a post as well. Hopefully, this Quisling establishment led country will be shamed. As it deserves to be.

What really angers me with the Israeli establishment is their apparent lack of reality on the ground. Netanyahu pushes the USA to offer more money to the PLO/PA. Yet, this corrupt in every way organisation still considers itself at war with Israel in every possible manner. Oh for a real Jewish minded and self respecting government. This is unlikely with a the types of Bibi., Livni etc, I really believe that there are far better Jewish leaders in Israel who are being held back by the extremely influential and wealthy Israeli establishment

There is no doubt whatsoever now that Canada is the best international friend that Israel has. Not only has Canada lost out at the UN by refusing to join the Jew/Israel hate mongering snivelling countries, instead, insisting that Canada will continue to support Israel.
Canada has now produced stamps showing the link between the Maple Leaf of Canada and the Magen David of Israel. A judge has now raided Iranian assets to pay for the victims of Hezbullah.

Now just ask yourself, picture the difference overall between Canada and any other nation. now picture the difference between Canada and Norway. One country has sold out totally its moral judgement. While the other practices full moral judgement and is able to ascertain the difference between perpetrators and victims. This one pays money to the victims while the other pays money to the perpetrators.

By the way, if Jens Stoltenberg is going to be the head of NATO, we can forget about on going improving relations with Israel. No doubt, he will ask for Saudi Arabia to join. JS is nothing more than a toady communist in socialist garb. Yes, one thing for sure the Norwegian establishment certainly practices self improvement within a political and financial sphere. Give me Canada each and every time.
