Marius Husebø-Evensen, Not online at the time of translation
Having asked Are Hovdenak of the PRIO on his opinions, the journalist delivers an analysis of the leadership of Hamas and Israel; describing Ismail Haniyeh as a former “moderate and pragmatic Islamist”, embittered by Fatah’s treatment of him, though still willing to enter compromises with Fatah. Netanyahu, on the other hand, is described as “pragmatic”, but somewhat lacking in vision, the journalist having received opinions by Hanne Eggen Røislien on this subject.
She describes him as in search of supporting players for Israel; though USA is still supporting Israel.
She also holds that Netanyahu should not be seen as an “aggressive leader”; and that he has shown no less restraint than earlier leaders in defending Israel.

Rune Ottosen a professor in Journalism at the College of Oslo (HiO) holds media coverage of the ongoing conflict in Gaza is skewed to the advantage of Israel in English speaking countries; due to a propaganda machinery working in Israel’s favor.
He holds that Israel possesses large and efficient PR machinery. He receives support over his opinions by well-known anti-Israel activist Nils Butenschøn. Also, the leader of the information unit of the Refugee Aid in Norway, Rolf Vestvik, holds the opinion the media knows too little about the ongoing conflict’s actors, in particular Hamas.
“By now, Hamas is appearing like an organization firing off some missiles without any purpose. The picture is more complicated than this. This is about Hamas as a political movement; and their relations to others more moderate and extreme movements”..
In this article, conservative commenter Jan Arild Snoen of “Minerva” magazine states that Norwegian journalists tends to hold the opinions of “moderate” Palestinians, being willing to give all blame on the conflict to Israel.

Andreas W.H. Lindvåg
This is an interview with Jewish Norwegian blogger Suzanne Aabel. Suzanne states openly that she regards the ongoing criticism of Israel and Jewish communities to have clearly anti-Semitic overtones, also in Norway.
“However, when Israeli s compared to outrageous dictatorships, this feels merciless to someone having friends there. Then, you are told not to play the Jew card, not to play the Holocaust card. I cannot but feel there is a tiny sliver of anti-Semitism in the vast hatred flaring up against the Israeli right now, Suzanne Aabel says”.
