Now, just where have I heard of a similar story? EMBASSY IN KABUL IN BITTER CONFLICT WITH NEIGHBORS Verdens Gang 2011 12 16, Erlend Skevik Summary. A neighbor of the Norwegian embassy in Kabul accuses the embassy over “arrogance, hidden threats and outright harassment of neighbors”. Neighbors claims loss of incomes due to obstacles surrounding the embassy because of security concerns. The MFA of Norway denies this. Quote: “It is not correct thatt he embassy’s security measures are blocking access of the neighbor to his property. Only a lesser side entrance is inside the closed grounds of the embassy; however the owner of the property has full access to this. We accept as a fact that he has not said himself to be content over our offer of compensation, his demands are however not realistic in today’s market”, Kopstad says”. The MFA denies having behaved in an arrogant manner. May we respectfully direct the vexed Kabul neighbors to the Oslo City Hall where they can consult on measures to have bothersome embassies removed. If they think that the “democratic” process is too cumbersome, we are always happy to lend them some of our very efficient Blitz thugs – it could [...]

No, for us Norwegians, our collective attention has been focused on…. butter. Or the lack of it. And how this will affect Christmas preparations, mainly the cookies and cakes that now will have to be prepared with lowly substitutes. This earned us prime time TV spots in the US, for instance the Colbert report… Once more, the old Swedish adage that Norway is the last Soviet state holds true.
HARBORS THE OPINION NORWAY SHOULD LEARN FROM ISRAEL Dagens Næringsliv 2011 12 16 p 16, Stig Arild Pettersen, Not Online Summary. This article is an interview with Guy Kawasaki of Apple. Mr. Kawasaki is comparing Norway to Israel; stating Norway has a lot to learn in the question of education, and other issues. Quote: “We should look at Israel. “If Israel can make it, you should, too. Their IT corporations are on the NASDAQ. I refuse to believe five million Israelis are all that smarter than five million Norwegians”, he says, laughing. However, two point are in Norway’s disfavor is Mr. Kawasaki’s opinion. “All Israel’s neighbors are out to kill them. They have learned to struggle. Perhaps you should ask the Swedes to invade you” ha ask ironically. While conflict has sharpened the Israeli’s edge, Kawasaki fears the contrary effect has taken place to the Norwegians. “When you just can drill a tube into the ground, sucking richness, you hardly get a lot of innovation”, Kawasaki says, adding he is aware of Norway’s advantages in the development of oil technology”. linkscolor = "000000"; highlightscolor = "888888"; backgroundcolor = "FFFFFF"; channel = "none";

Lifted from Tundratabloids, however, original story in Norwegian can be found here: NORWEGIAN LABOUR PARTY’S JONAS GAHR STØRE, SEEKS TO END IMMIGRANT DOMINANCE IN ELECTIONS…….! RACIST! So lets get this straight. If those Norwegians (or others in Europe) who are worried about the dual problem of mass immigration and islamization, dare raise their voices to object, they’re immediately labeled “racists” and relegated to the outer darkness where the sounds of wailing and the gnashing of teeth are heard. If you belong to the main party however, that promotes the multicultural project, you’re just a voice offering a valid concern. That’s multiculturalism and socialist/statist group politics for you, they are the ones who decide the winners and the losers in society. What’s amazing is that they’re shocked and surprised when people perform to the model they promote, and then seek to limit their successes. The concept of the rights of the individual has been under assault for decades in the West, and now more so then ever before. We live in an age where everything revolves around “group rights”, and it’s all due to the statists [...]

The printed Jewish Press has a weekly circulation of approximately 50 000, whilst I have been unable to find the number of individual readers of the online version.
Insanity and demonization. Op-ed: Aftermath of Norway massacre raises questions about terror, anti-Israel feelings. Manfred Gerstenfeld Last month, two court-appointed forensic psychiatrists concluded that ideological mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik – who killed 77 Norwegians in July – is mentally insane. Other experts disagree. One poll found that 48% of Norwegians believe that he has no severe psychiatric disorder. Breivik himself was insulted by the claim of insanity. However, many more questions should be raised internationally. One is: If Breivik is declared schizophrenic, can anyone who commits extreme violent acts, based on “ideology,” be considered normal? There are answers to this question elsewhere. The Venezuelan terrorist Ilich Ramirez Sanchez – better known as “Carlos the Jackal” – sits out a life sentence in a French jail. Mohammed Bouyeri’s Muslim worldview led him to murder Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh in 2004. He received a life sentence in The Netherlands. The question about the mental sanity of terrorists should be posed primarily in the Muslim world. How many of those who killed and mutilated thousands of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan are normal? The same question is valid concerning the tens of millions of Jihadi Muslims and their spiritual guides who support [...]

Yet socialist-led Norway – still living on its benign image abroad – has instead become the home of four dirty little secrets. And then he listed them up, like ducks in a row; investing money from our Petroleum Fund into companies and countries with the most scant regard for minor topics like human rights, the environment. On oil he observed the following: Even worse is policy on oil. Norway is the world’s third largest exporter of oil and gas, which provide more than a third of government revenues. Last year, when the doubling of world oil prices plunged millions of people in developing countries into poverty, oil revenues boosted government coffers by 17 times the value of Norway’s overseas aid. StatoilHydro, 67% owned by the government, operates in several countries accused of corruption and dire human rights records, such as Azerbaijan, Angola, Iran and Nigeria, and is eyeing up Iraq. Our good reputation? Norway’s dirty little secrets Mark Curtis, guardian.co.uk, Thursday 24 September 2009 08.30 BST Article history Norway is no ethical leader – its pension fund, oil policy, environmental record and arms exports give the lie to its image Can the European left look to Norway to push the world’s powerful nations to act morally abroad? A Labour/socialist left coalition government is celebrating electoral victory there, the first time an incumbent government has won re-election in 40 years. This is not the first time the NRK has been asked to explain its editorial content, and its ability to comply with minimal standards of decorum. At the time, Mr. Graff and (former) editor in chief Lars Helle, were totally unapologetic in the face of the strong reactions it provoked – are they really still at it, Helle complained when confronted with angry reactions. Now, the chicken has come home to roost – leaders from 3 major US Jewish organizations have written an oped which was published in Dagbladet yesterday. ANTISEMITISM IN DAGBLADET Dagbladet 2011 11 21 p 52 Andrew Srulevich (ADL), Eric Fusfield (B’nai B’rith International), Mark Weizman (Simon Wiesenthal center) Not Online (“Publishing Poison”, author’s original caption to this article) “Freedom of speech means you may not criticize my newspaper!” Such was the essence of former editor-in-chief Lars Helle’s argument in response to complaints about a Dagbladet cartoon that compared the situation in Gaza to the Holocaust. Published on the day of Gilad Shalit’s release, the cartoon depicted Palestinian prisoners entering “Gaza,” with the subheading “Jedem das Seine,” (“Everyone gets [...]

As an apropos to the previous entry, Ouch, Norway put on the spot – which DeBacle very correctly has criticized for its factual mistakes, Vårt Land has picked up on the story that Israelis mistrust Norwegians. In an article not online, the significance of the poll that found Norways standing among Israelis at a low, has been discussed. While I agree that the tabloid and very much British taking-the-mickey style of Coren may not sit very comfortably in Norwegian ears, Coren and other comments have not taken their arguments out of thin air. It is an undebatable truth that the politicians who currently furnish official Norway has taken some very unusual steps to demonstrate its anti-Israel bent. After a long time of trying to brush these events under the carpet, and rather focus on being diplomatically nice about it, Israelis see what they see, and it aint good news for us Norwegians! ISRAELIS CONCERNED OVER NORWAY Vårt Land 2011 11 16 10, 11 Geir Ole Bjartvik Not Online Summary. Every other Israeli view Norway as a hostile country, poll shows. While countries like Germany and Italy are regarded as friendly by many Israelis, Norway is rock bottom in a recent [...]

Not exactly news, but nevertheless a punch in the teeth for our national failure to rein in leftists with an anti-Israeli propaganda… When academic institutions allow anti-Semites a free rant, while denying pro-Israeli voices the opportunity to provide a more balanced picture, and ministers participate in anti-Israel rallies that end up trashing our capital, this will inevitably be the outcome. Some smart-asses will undoubtedly pooh-pooh this, trying to circumvent reality by claiming that the views presented in this video clip is not representative of the rest of the world… How wrong they are. Even Norad, our state run international aid and development agency, has pointed out we are on crash course with the rest of the world, and the walls of our golden castle could still cave in on us. They say it takes an eternity to build a good name and only a few seconds to destroy it. linkscolor = "000000"; highlightscolor = "888888"; backgroundcolor = "FFFFFF"; channel = "none";

Dr. Manfred Gerstenfeld has published an extensive essay on anti-Israelism and anti-Semitism in Western schools. It is well researched and well documented and gives concrete examples from various countries in Europe. Below I have copied in some selected examples from Norway. It seems we are merely copying other countries, but in some areas upping the ante and trying to outdo the others. Sadly we seem to excel at it. You can read the whole essay here. Anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism in schools or places related to them are significant problems in a number of Western countries. A third related topic concerns Holocaust education in a variety of European schools. When such education is part of the curriculum in some schools, problems may emerge with students. The few reports available on some key aspects of these topics all concern single countries. In the United States and France, textbooks have been studied. In the Netherlands, Belgium, and Norway, polls are available on some aspects of anti-Semitism in schools. Programs to combat anti-Semitism in schools have been developed in the Netherlands and Canada. Systematic research is required on a number of subjects. These concern, first, the neutrality of textbooks and curricula. The second aspect [...]

While Sweden is going to the dogs, it is Norway who wins the prize for most unfriendly country. Lifted from miff.no According to a monthly survey by the University of Tel Aviv and the Israeli Democracy Institute, a whopping 51% of Israelis find Norway the most unfriendly (literally, the most anti-Israli) country. Norway scores far worse than Italy, Germany, France and Spain. 25,5 % of Israelis think Norway is “totally unfriendly” towards Israel, and interestingly, 30,2% of these Israelis are Israeli Arabs while “only” 24,7 % of Jewish Israelis think the same. Spain is ranked as number two, where 13% of Israelis think the Spanish are totally unfriendly. 26,1 of Israelis view Norwegians and somewhat unfriendly, again Spain ranks as number 2, with 20,8%. The proportion of Israelis who view Norwegians as “somewhat friendly”, or “very friendly” is 18%. In contrast, Germany ranks highest with 59,7%, Italy 50%, Spania 26,2% and France 25,1% We sure are being loved right back! linkscolor = "000000"; highlightscolor = "888888"; backgroundcolor = "FFFFFF"; channel = "none";
