Lifted from Vårt Land Record Norwegian support to Israel More Norwegians buy Israeli goods, provide financial support and join the pro-Israel organizations. By: Lise Marit Kalstad and Olav Solvang Norway set a new record in the import of goods from Israel in 2011. In the last year Norway purchased Israeli goods for NOK 722 million, the corresponding number for 2010 was NOK 653 million, the newspaper Norway Today writes. Also the Norwegian exports to Israel increased, according to figures from Statistics Norway (SSB). - The main reason for the increase is that the Israelis produce high quality products in a number of areas, says the leader Dag Abrahamsen in the Norwegian-Israeli Chamber of Commerce to Norway Today. Increased involvement. Abrahamsen points at the same time that the Norwegian trade with Israel is not particularly high yet. - It is gratifying that the amount increases, but on the other hand, we have still a long way to go before we are in line with our Scandinavian neighbors, he said. The organization With Israel for Peace (MIFF) has nearly tripled its membership over the past five years. They now have over 5,300 members, and the goal is to round 6000 before the summer. - This is [...]

At a time when the rest of the world are slowly, ever so gradually starting to notice the atrocities that go on in Syria (but also many other places on our beautiful planet), one would have thought that the Norwegian People’s Aid would at least have mentioned the word Syria, somewhere, anywhere, on its web pages. But nope, not a word, yet NRK, who cannot find too much muck to write about Israel, now finally is reporting on the slaughter that goes on in Syria. But the Norwegian People’s Aid rather feel that the focus should be singly put on Israel, so they have published a blog where in addition to the usual “specialist” knowledge, that Israeli settlements are in violation of international Law. Interestingly, this is being repeated ad nauseam, but could we please have the reference to the international court final verdict that confirms this is so – last time I checked, this was far form being an established truth. Nevertheless, on and on they harp, here a translation of one of their blog entries. The author, Kjetil Østnor is a representative of the common committee on Palestine, whilst at the same time being a prominent member of [...]

Israel-bashers do not stand back from serving the dirty lie or two in order to further their case, here miff.no provides documentation from the Sadat-Begin Center that Israel over-complies with its obligations vz water resources. On the other side, the Palestinians routinely breach their agreements. Not sure if this will impress the pathological Israel hater, but for the rest of us it may come in handy to have these facts ready: Israel complies with its water commitments. Israel gives the Palestinians more water than what they have committed themselves to do, according to a new study from the Sadat-Begin Center. The Palestinians accusations against Israel with regards to water resource management are unfounded. The truth is that Palestinians are wasting water instead of making efforts to ensure more efficient water use. In addition, the Palestinians steal water from Israel by illegal wells and by illegally connecting to Israel’s water network. The study also shows how the current negative water situation can be an opportunity for positive cooperation between the two parties. Israel is accused of denying the Palestinians water rights and not to provide enough water to Palestinians in the West Bank in accordance with what was negotiated under the Oslo Accords. A [...]

I am genuinely pleased for the Palestinians in question who now will get their homes reconstructed. However, what is missed from the presentation here, is why the refugee camp was razed in the first place. Could it be that as it was an internal matter in Lebanon, who only tolerate their Palestinians as long as they can serve some perverse political agenda, no Norwegian NGO was sufficiently interested in the matter to raise the awareness of this situation in Norway? It is as if they accepted a priori, that without any Israeli involvement, nobody would bat an eyelid. Not the SV party, not the Labour party, not the Norwegian Church, not even the Palcom in Norway? Our FM Støre has failed to express interest in this matter, and PM Stoltenberg is presently busy nosediving in front of the new wannabe Ottoman ruler in Ankara. And why has not the NRC pressed the Lebanese government to give full citizenship with all its inherent rights, responsibilities and duties to the Palestinians who have been born in their country? Why shall we accept this perpetuation of victimhood, self bestowed or otherwise, of the Palestinians. After all, a child born to Chileans exiles, say [...]

Aaron Aby Arrah, a Palestinian who had stayed illegally in Norway for four months has been repatriated by force to the West Bank. The newspaper is in outrage over this, as Mr. Arrah was a patient at the AHUS psychiatric ward as he was apprehended, and also over the allegedly low standards of the Trandum detainment center, where Mr. Arrah was incarcerated ahead of being repatriated. According to the newspaper, these conditions are so bad as to be regarded as “torture like conditions” After first being airlifted to Jordan, Mr. Arrah was transported to the West Bank across the Allenby bridge, where he was questioned by the IDF. He is now reported to be in Jenin, and has received the attention of Palestinian security officials, who has asked him to report in order to be interrogated. Ahead of Mr. Arrah being repatriated, a [...]

Lets hope more free churches pull out of cooperation with the Norwegian Church Aid, lest they will be soiled with the dirt of the NCA- As for Bishop Atle Sommerfeldt, former leader of the NCA and his claim that the NCA supports Israel, their own track record show this to be a base lie. ARENDAL FREE CHURCH SHOWS THE WAY Vårt Land 2012 01 04 p 24 Roald Øye, Not Online Summary. Roald Øye of the Arendal Free Church launches an attack on established churches over their attitudes towards Israel. In particular, Olav Fykse of the World’s Council of Churches and Atle Sommerfeldt of Norwegian Church Aid are under scrutiny. Their support of the so called Kairos document receives scathing criticism, being described as a tool to delegitimize Israel. The Arendal Free Church has cancelled economic cooperation with the NCA over this.
THREE YEARS SINCE BOMBING OF GAZA Ship to Gaza Norway, no date, Nikolaos Tavridis-Hansen Summary. In anti-Israel demo on December 29th 2011, held nearby the Israeli embassy in Oslo, Mr. Nikolaos Tavridis-Hansen of the Norwegian Ship to Gaza, held a speech directed against Israel, the translator contends himself with translating the first lines of his appeal: “It is three years since Holocaust in the Gaza strip! Three years ago, Israeli forces in a brutal fashion massacred 1400 Palestinians”. The rest of his appeal is very much in the same vein. Perhaps unnecessary to mention, Mr, Tafridis-Hansen also mentions Apartheid and ethnic cleansing of Palestine. Further is also appears they fail to coordinate their statements with noise emanating from Gaza; according to Hamas “official” Mahmoud al-Zahar: Senior Hamas member Mahmoud al-Zahar dismissed a statement made by Hamas Politburo Chief Khaled Mashaal, who claimed recently that the group will hold mass rallies against Israel within the Gaza Strip. “Popular resistance is inappropriate for the Gaza Strip,” al-Zahar said. “Against whom exactly would be rally? Such resistance would be fitting if Gaza was occupied.” However, he claimed that all forms of resistance – including the armed kind – are appropriate for the West [...]

Below are two stories to show how the Norwegian labour Unions, all of them the pay masters of the Labour Party, work openly to demolish the Jewish state. Israelis are not to be allowed to defend themselves, so called Palestinian refugees are to return, Israel must be boycotted and Jews who do not sing from the same hymn sheet as the delusional Union crowd are to be branded as murderers. Mind you, these people pay the bills or the Labour party – and since there is no paying without receiving anything in return, I think we can be fairly sure that the Labour Party will and already are implementing these rabid anti-Israeli measures. I note to my disappointment that Mr. Tangen has not expressed a similar interest in the fact that Palestinian workers, in “Palestine” still do not have the right of freedom of association or collective bargaining, but I suppose that is of lesser importance in the grand scale of the overall project, the destruction of Israel. Mr Tangen even praises the cooperation between Hamas and Fatah, I wonder if he was sleeping the day Hamas threw the Fatah representatives off roof tops in Gaza – he seems utterly [...]

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THOSE NICE WORDS BY NORSK FOLKEHJELP? MIFF 2011 12 07 Conrad Myrland Summary. Norwegian Pro-Israeli website MIFF publishes a letter received from an anguished Norwegian, Jewish woman. The letter is an appeal by Norsk Folkehjelp, Norwegian People’s Aid, for economic support. The text on the envelope was this: “This is what Palestinian refugees want most of all. An address”. This is the letter inside. Translation of the letter: A life without a home. Try to think of yourself and your family being evicted from your home. From now on another family shall live there. You must live as refugees, losing everything- incomes, rights, future. This is the reality to four million Palestinian refugees worldwide. Norsk Folkehjelp has, since 1982, been working for these people to have their homes and futures returned. Two thirds of the inhabitants here in the Gaza strip are refugees. They have been waiting for sixty years to return to their homes and villages. Refugees wearing a key around their necks are not an uncommon sight to us living here. The key is a symbol of not having abandoned hope, though Palestinians are still removed from their homes by force. Many are [...]

Our FM Støre made head lines around the world last week, when he accused Israel of water boarding the PA economy in response to the PA’s unilateral actions at the UN, in contravention of the Oslo agreement. Yesterday, a UN report concluded that The substantial body of evidence gathered by the commission indicates that these gross violations of human rights have been committed by Syrian military and security forces since the beginning of the protests in March 2011. The commission is gravely concerned that crimes against humanity have been committed in different locations in the Syrian Arab Republic during the period under review. The report also highlighted the situation of children: Violations of children’s rights 69. The information collected indicates that children have suffered serious violations and that State forces have shown little or no recognition of the rights of children in the actions taken to quell dissent. 70. Witnesses informed the commission that children (mostly boys) were killed or injured by beatings or shooting during demonstrations in several locations across the country, including Sayda, Dar’a, Idlib, Hama, Homs, Sarmeen Al Ladhiqiyah and Dayr Az Zawr. Reliable sources indicated that 256 children had been killed by State forces as at [...]

Norwegian unions and Norwegian People’s Aid (who recently claimed that they are a politically neutral organization which supports a two state solution) have written a letter to FM Støre, asking that Norway pulls out of the WHO conference in Jerusalem . The purported reason is to prevent Jerusalem ever being considered the capital of Israel. The organizations informs us that on a previous occasion, Norway dropped the biannual OECD conference on tourism when it was organized in Jerusalem in 2010. The claim that Norway is a neutral mediator in the ME conflict starts to ring very hollow indeed. linkscolor = "000000"; highlightscolor = "888888"; backgroundcolor = "FFFFFF"; channel = "none";

As one reader commented yesterday, the “international BDS day” on November 26, does not seem like a randomly selected date. Officially, but perhaps only as some sort of paper exercise, Norway recognizes the enormous betrayal of our Jews: Tale/artikkel, 22.09.2011 Av: Utenriksminister Jonas Gahr Støre Stumbling to Remember Kronikk i Yedioth Ahronoth (Israel), 22. september 2011 On 26 October 1942, the Norwegian police arrested all Jewish men. On 26 November 1942, all Jewish women and children were arrested. Nineteen Jews from Calmeyers gate 15 in Oslo – which also housed a synagogue at the time – were arrested and deported that autumn. Today, this is the home of the Oslo Jewish Museum. Of the 65 who were deported from Calmeyers gate and the surrounding streets, only one returned. The Holocaust – the attempt at total annihilation – was a fact. The worst of it unfolded in the camps. But part of that terrible story took place in Oslo, when the Jews were arrested and driven to the harbor. And we must face the fact that this particular link in the chain of events was the work of Norwegians. This remains even though Norway was under German occupation. We must also remember [...]
